As 2020 edges closer to its end, so does the 30th-anniversary celebration of Asics’ famous GEL-Lyte III sneaker. Established in 1990, the pivotal running shoe has remained a hallmark of the Asics brand ever since, thanks to its incredible performance on the road as well as its timeless style and an unusual lineup of color schemes. To celebrate the retro silhouette’s anniversary, Asics has been rolling out a mix of both new and OG colorways, all using a new, more 1990-accurate reconstruction of the silhouette. The latest original color scheme to return to retailers features a white mesh base, overlaid with purple suede and an orange split tongue for an eye-catching look.

Asics’ latest original colorway of the GEL-Lyte III to return to shelves in 2020, the purple & orange combo, is scheduled to arrive next week, on October 6th. The OG look will be available from both Asics and select retailers like AsphaltGold for the usual retail price of $110.
