Asics’ thirty-year-anniversary celebration for the GEL-Lyte III is still going strong this Summer, with fresh styles and colorways launching on a monthly basis. This week, Asics unveiled the “Kind Leather” GLIII pack, made from recycled leather scraps.

Still fresh off of its 30-year-anniversary in 2020, the Asics GEL-Lyte III has been the focus of an unprecedented run of releases from the Japanese running brand, reworking the GLIII in dozens of colorways, both new and old as well as limited-edition collaborations and standard in-line colorways. This week, the Japanese brand is taking a more sustainable approach tot heir latest release, decking out the GEL-Lyte III in a duo of “Kind Leather” constructions, meaning both pairs are made from recycled leather scraps to reduce overall waste. While the Asics promo imagery kind of makes them look identical, the official photos from the website show two distinct colorwyas, one in a soft grey shade and the other in a ivory white color.

Asics’ latest colorway of the legendary GEL-Lyte III released earlier this week from the brand’s website, where they are still available in a a variety of sizes. Constructed from scrap leather, both the grey and ivory color schemes come with the usual price tag of $120, with a wider release expected soon.
