The Asics’ 30th-anniversary celebration of the brand’s GEL-Lyte III has almost come to a close, but this week they have one more special-edition release in time for Christmas. Check out the GEL-Lyte III “Daruma” pack, available now.

The Asics GEL-Lyte III has taken inspiration and borrowed themes for cultures around the world, as well as historic moments and everything in between. However, often the GLIII is at its best when it is used as a canvas to celebrate its home country of Japan, and the latest release following this theme is no exception. Released quietly via Asics’ website yesterday, a new two-pack of bright colorways is meant to mimic the look of Japanese Daruma dolls, small hollow spheres modeled after Bodhidharma, the founder of the Zen tradition in Buddhism. Both pairs are constructed from premium materials, featuring perforated white leather base layers reinforced by eye-catching leather overlays in either red or an electric blue tone, with plenty of gold detailing to complete the look.
