The Asics Gel-Kayano 5 first appeared on the running scene back in 1999, quickly establishing itself as one of the brand’s best offerings. This year, the Gel-Kayano returned twenty years after its debut, featuring all the details and technology that fans loved from the original, and modernizing them to better fit today’s sneaker scene. This included an updated version of the shoe alongside the original, which kept the entirety of the upper intact and replaced the midsole with full-length GEL cushioning for a sleeker profile and more comfortable ride. However, the original iteration is still the clear fan-favorite, and Asics is happy to keep feeding the masses with new color schemes. This week, the GEL Kayano 5 OG surfaced in a faint “Watershed Rose” colorway, which paints the mixed-material upper in shades fo faded rose, grey, and white for a Springtime look.
