Asics’ Gel technology went crazy in 2019, thanks to the successful revival of the material in the new 360 midsole. This week, the brand quietly releases a new “Tree Camo” colorway of the GEL-Kayano 5 KZN.
Asics’ GEL sneakers have dominated the brand’s releases over the past year, thanks to a resurgence in popularity in the vintage technology. Now, Asics is steadily releasing new colorways with updated materials to keep up with the growing demand. This month, the GEL-Kayano 5 KZN makes its return, after a subte debut last month on Valentine’s Day. Built to provide a slightly more elevated take on the Kayano 5, the KZN swaps out some of the standard materials in favor of overlays constructed from suede and leather. For their latest colorway, the Asics team has beautifully printed a colorful tree camo pattern across the KZN’s suede overlays, giving the shoe a marbled or tie-dye-like pattern. The rest of the shoe is made to match, featuring a cream-colored mesh base layer, along with several other suede or leather overlays in black and forest green.

Asics’ latest colorway of their new GEL-Kayano 5 KZN launched quietly earlier this week on March 22nd, 2020. The printed “Tree Camo” color scheme launched from third-party Asics retailers like China’s HBX, where it is still available in a wide range of sizes for approximately $116.
