The New Balance 99x series has received a lot of love from fans in the past few years, and the Boston brand is serving up more than we can handle through new colorways and collaborations. This week, Aries revealed their bright new take on the 991.
Founded in London in 2010, Aries is helmed by designer Sofia Pantera, former creative for Silas with nearly 20 years in the streetwear industry, and her partner, graphic design legend Fergus Purcell. Together, the two have created a strong brand ethos through their own personal experiences as well as some re-appropriation of branding. This week, the brand announced that they would be working on a project with New Balance, creating their own take on two colorways of the classic 991. So far, we’ve got a good look at a tennis ball-colored pair, while the cream look has yet to surface in cleaner images. The Aries 991 is highly detailed, featuring a wealth of materials and hidden branding from the London based label, coming together in one brilliant shoe.
The new collaborative project from New Balance and Aries has been announced to release later this month, on October 25th, 2019. Limited in nature, these two pairs are likely to have an elevated retail price thanks to their level of detail and quality of materials.
