Sofia Prantera’s Aries brand first teamed up with New Balance last year, reworking the classic 991 in two wildly colorful new looks. Now, the two are reuninitng, with the British brand applying an all-over leather construction to the popular 327 runner.
Founded in London in 2010, Aries is helmed by designer Sofia Pantera, former creative for Silas with nearly 20 years in the streetwear industry, and her partner, graphic design legend Fergus Purcell. Together, the two have created a strong brand ethos through their own personal experiences as well as some re-appropriation of branding. This week, the London-based streetwear brand announced its latest collaboration with New Balance, expressing their appreciation for the brand’s commitment to the U.K., saying; “New Balance has supported us creatively without imposing boundaries and has been extremely open to any ideas. More importantly, New Balance is an independent business who still believes in investing in people and nurturing manufacturing, it’s the only trainer company still manufacturing in the U.K., keeping skills and jobs alive even when less profitable.”
The latest work from Aries and New Balance features a two-pack of colorways for the fan-favorite 327 model. The sleek runner is reconstructed entirely from tumbled leather for this release, including some new additional details that make them pop. Availble in your choice of inky black or crisp white, both pairs feature bold red accents along the lacing system and added pull tabs, while bright Aries branding appears on the lateral ‘N’ logos. Both the toe box and mudguard overlays show some 3M reflective highlights sandwiched between and peeking out slightly, while 3M laces and gum rubber outsoles complete each look. In addition to the two pairs of 327 sneakers, Aries and New balance have also cooked up a small apparel capsule including windbreakers and wind pants in your choice of black or silver.

The latest project from British streetwear brand Aries and New Balance has been scheduled to debut later this week, on October 30th, 2020, via Aries’ own website, followed shortly by a global release on November 6th. Available in both white and black colorways, both pairs will likely come with a heightened price tag due to the materials used.
