Angelo Baque’s relationship with Asics began through his brand, AWAKE NY. Now, it appears the designer will be taking a more personal approach with his next release, applying his own style and name to the Asics GEL-Kayano 14, coming soon.

AWAKE NY and Asics have teamed up several times in the last few years, producing projects like the excellent GEL-Quantum 360 as well as lat year’s eye-catching leopard print GEL-Preleus. Now, it appears that AWAKE’s founder, Angelo Baque, will be taking a more personal approach with his next Asics project, ditching the AWAKE NY branding in favor of his own name and personal style. The leak comes directly from Baque’s Instagram account, where the designer posted a photo of him holding an Asics GEL-Kayano 14 in a colorful new style, complete with his name printed on the heels of the shoe. The look begins with a black mesh base layer, while the shoe’s overlays come in bright blues and oranges, as well as adding yellow portions to the midsole for an eye-catching look.

There is currently no available information whatsoever in regards to Angelo Baque’s signature colorway of the Asics GEL-Kayano 14, though we can guess that it will release sometime this year. The extremely colorful rendition of the classic runner will likely launch in limited numbers via both AWAKE and Asics, though we will have to wait for official information to confirm. In the meantime, check out Baque’s in-hand image for a better look, and stay tuned to JustFreshKicks for more Asics release news.
