Anderson .Paak has been making waves with his upbeat, sunshine-filled music the past few years, and he’s done it all with Vans on his feet. So, it was no surprise to hear the LA-based artist had signed on with the CA brand as their first global music ambassador.

Anderson .Paak has been on the come up since 2014 when he released his debut album Venice. Since then, the Los-Angeles-based musician has been turning heads and catching ears on a regular basis, thanks to his frequent new music and strong social media presence. During his reign, .Paak has been spotted wearing almost entirely Vans sneakers, at this point almost known for rocking the sleek, cool silhouettes on a daily basis. Luckily, this penchant for the California skate brand has paid off, as they named him their first global music ambassador earlier this week. While it sounds like a regular endorsement, remember that Vans has been an essential part of the music industry for years, hosting Warped Tour on an annual basis, so a young, black, contemporary R&B/soul/hip-hop artist being the first is a pretty big deal. To kick things off, .Paak has cooked up a small collection with Vans, consisting of bucket hats and the Old Skool DX in two colorways, one in multicolor stripes and the second in white with black chenille patterned patches.
