Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball League gets hooked up with new player-edition sneakers each year. This week, we have a special look at their latest, a limited edition pair of the Air Jordan 14.

Nike founded their EYBL (elite youth basketball league) back in 2010, helping to showcase some up-and-coming talent from around the country. The league is for players aged 17 and younger, and features the nation’s top 40 AAU basketball programs. Every Summer Nike hosts the league in cities around the country, culminating in the Peach Jam in Georgia to decide the winner of the tournament. In addition to providing a showcase for rising stars, Nike uses the opportunity to outfit all players in some of their latest court sneakers.

The EYBL-exclusive footwear options from Nike routinely highlight the best and most innovative models in their lineup. Silhouettes from Lebron, Kevin Durant, and more have been included over the years, as have in-line Nike Basketball offerings. In addition to their on-court shoes, the Swoosh gifts players special lifestyle models, most often through their Jordan retro lines. This week, we have a behind-the-scenes look at the Air Jordan 14 gifted to EYBL players this Summer. The model comes in a jet black suede for the upper, applying a carbon fiber pattern to the midsole panels underneath. The Ferrari-inspired badge at the heels and the molded TPU plater underfoot come with a colorful iridescent finish to complete the look.
