God, it must be nice a Nike or Jordan sponsored athlete. This morning, Nigel Sylvester gave us a sneak peak at an exclusive Friends & Family edition Air Jordan 14, dressed in a striking “Purple Ferrari” colorway.

Jordan Brand PEs are some of the most elusive sneakers in history, produced either in one-off colorways or extremely limited runs exclusive to friends & family of the brand. Player-exclusive colorways have been a part of Jordan Brand’s story since 1995, when they created the very first PE for Michael Jordan himself after his return to the NBA. The AJ10 was the canvas for that project, and came dressed in a special “Chicago” colorway with a stylized ’45’ embroidered on the collar, the number Mike wore initially after his return.

PE styles have evolved over the years, with Nike & Jordan Brand often giving them to their signed athletes who do not have a signature sneaker deal of their own, giving them a small taste of having a special color or style just for them. This week, Nigel Sylvester appears to be getting that same experience, through a “Purple Ferrari” Air Jordan 14 edition. Nigel, an important member of the Jordan collaborations program, shared a special look at the sneakers this morning, dubbing them as “OTF”, or Only the Family, likely pointing to the friends & family nature of this colorway. The look is a flip of the beloved “Ferrari” 14s, a bold red suede edition modeled after Mike’s own sports car. This pair flips the red for regal purple, maintaining the yellow badge accents and red Jordan branding.
