2026 marks thirty years since the release of Space Jam, Michael Jordan’s only Hollywood silver screen appearance. Jordan Brand is celebrating with a number of releases, including the “Green Screen” Air Jordan 11.
Space Jam is thirty years old in 2026. One of the most important movies of my childhood, the film is an early artifact of weird crossovers in the world of cinema. The Looney Tunes teaming up with Michael Jordan to stop a team of mutated Monstars from enslaving the Tune Squad by winning a basketball game is one hell of a log line, but the execution was perfect, and still a remarkably fun watch to this day. In the movie, Jordan himself donned several exclusive colorways of his Air Jordan models, primarily the AJ9 and AJ11. Both pairs had not released to the public at the time, and have gone on to become some of the most iconic releases from the Jumpman ever. This year, both elusive colorways are getting a retro release in celebration of the anniversary, and will be joined by a second colorway of the Air Jordan 11, the suede “Green Screen” edition. Inspired by behind-the-scenes photos of Mike playing ball on a green set for the film’s final act, the shoes come in a mix of Gym and Lucky green tones across a suede and nubuck upper. Icy outsoles with orange accents, insoles printed with a still from the movie, and special packaging complete the look for this brand new colorway.
AIR JORDAN 11 “GREEN SCREEN” RELEASE INFORMATION
The latest addition to this holiday season’s Space Jam collection from Jordan Brand has not been made official yet, but is expected to release on November 16th, 2026. The “Green Screen” Air Jordan 11 takes inspiration from behind-the-scenes photos of Mike acting against a full green backdrop while recording the movie’s finale. Pairs will be available through both Nike and select retailers for $255.
