New Balance is elevating their game this year. Between several high-profile collaborations set to release this year, they’ve captured plenty of attention in recent weeks. Now, check out their latest project, featuring Aimé Leon Dore and the 997.

New Balance is on a new level in 2019, if their latest string of products is any indication. The past several weeks have given us an early look at the brand’s new project with legendary Boston boutique Bodega as well as the official debut of Kawhi Leonard’s performance basketball shoe. Now, another exciting collaborative project has made its way online via leaked images, this time working with Aimé Leon Dore on a mismatched set of 997s.

The first sneak peek of the ALD New balance 997 came in the form of a vintage-style advertisement. The image showed an elderly man carrying a bag of groceries and smoking a cigar with a dog at his side. On his feet were- you guessed it- the new 997. The main body of the shoe is constructed from several tones of grey leathers and mesh, while the heel and collar contain all of the colors. One shoe features a purple tongue with pink and blue accents, while the second comes with a yellow tongue with pink and navy blue lining.

The latest project from Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance has not yet been scheduled for release, though they are expected to hit shelves sometime throughout the coming weeks. The mismatched colorways will retail for a cool $180, likely in limited numbers. Check out the early images below for a better look, and stay tuned to JustFreshKicks for more information on how to secure a pair.

UPDATE: Aimé Leon Dore has announced that their project with New Balance will release on April 12th, 2019. The teaser images show a three-pack of handballs, which alludes to the sporty inspiration behind the collection. Pricing has not yet been revealed for either the shoes are collaborative apparel, but we expect them to reflect ALD’s standard pricing.
