Aimé Leon Dore’s release of the New Balance 1000 is still underway this month, and already the brand’s founder Teddy Santis is teasing their next release. This time, the two are debuting the return of the 475, a trail runner from the 1980’s, giving it a clean white and green color scheme with some exquisite detailing.
New Balance has teamed up with New York brand Aimé Leon Dore to help relaunch a number of their archival silhouettes over the past few years. Their collaborations began in 2019, before the skyrocketed in popularity in 2020 with the retro release of the 550. Since then, the two have released multiple projects each year, often dropping several colors at once and offering them through preorders to allow anyone a chance to get a pair. Just this month, the two released their latest sneakers, a three-piece collection of the 1000 retro from New Balance, and already Teddy Santis has teased what’s next for their partnership.
The next team-up from New Balance and Aimé Leon Dore is already well underway, with the ALD founder sharing an early look at the next silhouette making a retro release, the 475. Originally released in the 1980’s, the model was built as a trail runner, but will certainly be marketed as a more casual lifestyle model in its return. The pair shared by Teddy casts the silhouette in a neutral color scheme, mixing a white nylon base layer with off-white shades of suede for the overlays. The ‘N’ logos appear to be stitched on in a forest green thread with white trim, while a porcelain leather heel in green completes the look.

The next project from Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance has been scheduled to release this week, on September 20th, 2024. Featuring two colorways of the retro 475 runner, pairs will be available exclusively through ALD’s website for an expected $150.
