Australia’s Above The Clouds recently teamed up with Asics to launch their take on the GT-2160. The release was immensely popular, and now, the store has teased that three more colorways will arrive in 2024.

Asics’ collaborations have been on fire this year. From HAL Studios’ GEL-1130 releases to Ronnie Fieg’s X-Men GEL-Lyte IIIs, they have been producing hit after hit throughout 2023. More recently, Australia’s Above the Clouds delivered their version of the GT-2160 in a ‘Shamrock Green‘ color scheme, a retro model that the Japanese brand revived in Spring of this year. The release gained plenty of traction online, with many blogs and Instagram accounts praising it as a contender for one of the best releases of the year. Now, Above the Clouds has teased their follow-up, which will bring back their mixed-material take on the shoe in a three-pack of new colors. Seen here in samples, each colorway presents a neutral tone as its main feature, with an all-black pair, as well as a silver/whtie look and a brown/silver pair to round out the pack. All three share the same semi-transparent mesh windows on the sides and toes, as well as AtC branding.

Above the Clouds next project with Asics, once again featuring the GT-2160, has not been announced for release but is expected to arrive sometime in 2024. Featuring three colorways this time around, all styles will likely debut first from the retailer followed by a wider Asics release, each with a price tag of $150. Check out the image showing samples of all three pairs, and stay tuned to JustFreshKicks for further updates on this release.

UPDATE 3/13/24: Above the Clouds has shared an update on their forthcoming Asics GT-2160 project, showing off the brown colorway they originally teased back in November. The new look gives us a better look at the brown and silver style, which adds flashes of red to the branding and insoles, the latter of which shows through the semi-transparent mesh upper. Still no word on a release yet or new photos of the black & white pairs, so stay tuned for further updates.
