Reebok’s Pump technology made a surprising return last month, reviving a classic ’90s tech for the modern day with both new silhouettes, and now, some of the classics. Check out the Reebok Pump Omni Zone II “OG”, coming soon.
The original Reebok Pump shoe made its debut in 1989, in the middle of the sneaker technology revolution. Brands were pushing out new tech and styles at an unprecedented rate, and Reebok had something special up their sleeves. The Pump was a brand new kind of cushioning, padding the uppers of the shoe with air bags that filled and adjusted to fit the wearer’s feet. In 1990, Reebok followed up the original with three more models, the Twilight Zone, STX Pump, and the Omni Zone, the latter of which has returned this year in honor of its thirtieth anniversary. The first colorway to kick off the retro run was Dee Brown’s signature black colorway, now, a second original color scheme has surfaced for release this season. This classic look features a white leather upper with black detailing and mesh underlays, while orange Pump branding completes the look.
