Kanye West and adidas have enjoyed massive success with the Yeezy Boost 350, 700, and 750 lines, as well as the updated Yeezy Powerphase “Calabasas”. Now, Yeezy is preparing his next chunky runner, the Yeezy Desert Rat 500 Pirate Black.

After the dislike for the Yeezy Boost 700 slowly turned to a burning passion among OG sneakerheads and hypebeasts alike, adidas and Kanye are ready to feed the masses. The Yeezy Desert Rat 500 is a 90’s inspired runner, distinguishable by its heavily layered upper and mix of interesting materials. The sole of the shoe features adidas’s patented Feet You Wear technology, which divides the sole into round pods to provide traction and flexibility, while keeping your feet close to the ground. The upper is constructed from varying layers of mesh, and both smooth and rough suede. This rendition is swathed entirely with a dark grey hue, recently having been dubbed “Pirate Black”. The first Yeezy Desert Rat 500 to release came packaged with a Yeezy sweatshirt and matching sweatshorts, combining for a retail price of $760. However, it has recently been revealed that this “Pirate Black” colorway will release alone with a retail price of $220.
