Vivienne Westwood and Asics are continuing their collaborative efforts this month, this time with a bright new colorway of the sleek Gel-DS Trainer. Taking plenty of inspiration from Westwood’s regal style, the new look launches globally later this week.

Great Britain’s Vivienne Westwood has long been a high-profile figure in the fashion world, influencing just about every corner of the industry with her unique and eccentric style. This year, the London-based designer debuted a new collaborative project with Asics Tiger, the lifestyle division of the Japanese running brand that’s been a piece of sneaker history since the very beginning. The first project saw Vivienne recoloring the Gel-Saga with a Renaissance art-inspired look. The latest project follows a similar theme, this time taking inspiration from paintings by François Boucher. The Gel-DS Trainer features the painter’s work Daphnis & Chloe, while the outside of the shoe features accents in green, blue, yellow, and red across a black upper with reflective silver finishing off the look.

The next installment in the project between Vivienne Westwood and Asics has now been scheduled to release later this week, on August 17th, 2019. The colorful new look for Asics Tiger’s Gel-DS Trainer will retail for a hefty $160, though its quite understandable given the stature of Westwood’s name.
