The rate at which New Balance releases special collaborations is simply astounding. In April 2019 alone, the brand released projects with Bodega, Aimé Leon Dore, and Todd Snyder. Now, the Boston brand has teamed up with Japan’s UA&Sons.
United Arrows & Sons classic Japanese styles are prominently present in just about every project they work on, including their latest work for New Balance. The project was officially unveiled today via the UA&Sons website, showing off two minimal interpretations of New Balance’s 574 silhouette slated for arrival late in May of 2019.
The project focuses on UA&Sons offshoot brand, Beauty & Youth, whose aesthetic can simply be described as minimal and bright. Utilizing the original 574 and the newer 574S for this project, both shoes are covered in a simple and clean colorway, covering their mesh base layers and various leather overlays in shades of white, cream, and grey. The sportier 574S features tiny hits of teal on the toe box along with a faint yellow insole, while the classic model is much simpler in all white with minimal black accents.
United Arrows & Sons’ latest project with New Balance has not yet been given an official release date, though they have been slated for sometime in May 2019. The minimal colorways of the 574 classic and 574S will both carry retail prices above their standard, and release exclusively at United Arrows first.
