The Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 finally has an official release date. Bound to be one of the biggest releases of the year, after months of waiting and anticipation they are finally set to launch May of 2019.
Ahh, sneakerheads can finally sleep restfully knowing the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 has a confirmed release date. Rumors were flying around since they were leaked via the rappers Instagram story last year that left everyone on the edge of their seats waiting for a drop. Fans saw a surprise drop during Travis’s Grammy performance earlier this year that left a bitter taste in many mouths as they were released in such limited quantities that they resold for nearly $2,000 after the drop. Now today, they shock dropped on Travis’s own website for his birthday (Happy Birthday Trav!) and sold out within seconds again. Quickly, Nike loaded up images with an official release date to give us just a little more hope at potentially landing ourselves a pair.
Travis Scott has quickly become one of the most influential people of this generation. His lyrical expertise and one of a kind personality have resulted in a huge accumulation of ragers around the world. His popularity grew so big that he gained a partnership with Nike. The “Checks over Stripes” rapper has added many different models to his partnership collection but this Jordan 1 stands out above the rest and has fans bursting at the seams.
Although the silhouette is not totally altered, the presence of La Flame himself is heavily felt. The Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 features a suede and leather upper that is painted with white and mocha. The most notable feature is the backward Nike Swoosh that is placed on the lateral midfoot, an interesting touch. Other branding includes a red Nike Air logo on the tongue, the coveted Cactus Jack logo on the medial midfoot, and a smiley face logo that has been a staple for the Houston rappers career that graces the heels. Also, adding a little flare, a hidden pocket can be found in the inner heel.
