Now here are some sneakers you can’t refuse. Earlier today, Puma quietly shared a new project that sees them teaming up with one of the most famous films of all time, Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather.
The Puma Roma has made quite an interesting return to the brand’s arsenal this year. Originally introduced in 1968, the Roma began its life as a purpose-built training shoe, providing enough traction, comfort, and support for all-around exercise. However, as the years went on, the Roma became more popular from a lifestyle perspective, as is the case with many classic Puma silhouettes. Soon, Roma’s could be spotted casually on any street corner, on the feet of anyone from active children to cool grandpas. Now, the Roma is back, this time to celebrate one of the greatest movies of all time; The Godfather.
The collaborative take on Puma’s Roma silhouette by The Godfather takes the shoe to two distinct locations from the films, Woltz Studios as well as Luois Retaurant. The first of the pack decks out the vintage trainer in all-over cream suede, with a black midsole splash and Woltz Studios logos on the outer heels. The tongue is adorned with nylon webbing covered in the movie’s GF logo, as well as the official branding on the heel. The second pair builds the base layer of the upper out of quilted black leather with a suede toe cap and white Puma Formstrip. The LuoisRestaurant sign decorates the tongue, while Godfather branded insoles complete the look.
THE GODFATHER X PUMA ROMA PACK RELEASE INFORMATION
Puma’s new project with Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather has not yet been given an official release date in the United States, though they are expected to arrive on shelves sometime in August 2019. The two colorways, paying homage to fictional locations Louis Restaurant and Woltz Studios, will retail for $140 and $100, respectively, from both Puma and select retailers.
