Nike is preparing a retro of John McEnroe’s signature Mac Attack, tapping retailer Social Status to help debut the revived silhouette with a smooth black and grey colorway coming in Summer 2023.

The Nike Mac Attack is coming back. Originally released in 1984 and famously worn by John McEnroe, the tennis trainer has never again seen a release from the Swoosh, though that appears to be changing this year. After early info indicated a retro of the classic trainer this year, new images that surfaced this week show a collaboration with North Carolina-based retailer Social Status. While information is sparse, the images show a clean color scheme, consisting of a mixed black and grey mesh base, with more grey for the silhouette’s leather overlays. Black Swooshes and heel elements add to the design, with a white tongue and yellow Nike branding to complete the look.
