Vans Authentic ‘New York Yankees’
Vans has released a new iteration of its classic Authentic silhouette that pays homage to the New York Yankees. The pair was released under the Vans Authentic Subway Series Pack. The shoe features a full canvas upper with the Yankees’ signature navy blue color. White detailing on the iconic interlocking “NY” logo is seen throughout. These sneakers are perfect for fans of the Yankees and lovers of classic Vans sneakers.
Nike Dunk High SB ‘New York Mets’
The New York Mets inspire the next MLB-inspired Nike SB to release as part of their “Bubblegum Pack.” The sneaker is dedicated to the Mets’ grey jerseys and features a grey mesh and suede design with blue and orange detailing on the Nike Swoosh logos on the sides and tongue labels. The sneaker also features “7” on the inner tongue, a nod to the stadium’s subway exit and Citi Field’s famous home run apple. Additionally, the design comprises a white rubber midsole and a gum outsole with pink bubble gum detailing. The Nike SB Dunk High “New York Mets” was officially released on July 26, 2022, via select Nike SB skate shops and Nike.com.
Nike Air Force 1 Low ‘Jackie Robinson’
Nike has announced a new Air Force 1 Low sneaker to celebrate the life of Jackie Robinson, the first African American MLB player. The shoe features nods to the retro Brooklyn Dodger uniforms, with smooth white and grey tumbled leather overlays on the upper, royal blue canvas Nike Swoosh logos, and “42” embroidered numbers on the lower ankles. Brooklyn Dodger logos also appear on the tongues. A gum rubber midsole and outsole complete the design. The Air Force 1 Low “Jackie Robinson” was released on April 15th, 2023, via select Nike retailers and Nike.com for $120. The sneaker follows the success of the Jackie Robinson collection, which included a Dunk Low that was released in 2022.
Nike Air Griffey Max 1 ‘Cincinnati Reds Away’
Nike released a new Air Griffey Max 1 shoe to celebrate Ken Griffey’s time with the Cincinnati Reds. The shoe will be available in a Pure Platinum, University Red, and White colorway and will feature a platinum leather and nubuck upper with grey tones. Additionally, University Red accents are present on the Nike Swoosh logos on the toe and ankle strap. The shoe also has a white rubber midsole with red accents, a red Air unit, and a red outsole. The Nike Air Griffey Max 1 ‘Cincinnati Reds’ became available on March 30th, 2023, for a retail price of $170.
Nike KD 15 ‘Mariners’
Nike is set to honor Kevin Durant with a special edition KD 15 “Mariners” sneaker. In 2007 Kevin Durant lived in Seattle while playing for the SuperSonics before the team moved to Oklahoma City to become the Thunder. The shoe features a green and blue volt color scheme reminiscent of the Mariners’ logo. Durant’s love for the Mariners is well-known, and he’s often seen sporting their gear, so this sneaker is a fitting tribute to his early career. The Nike KD 15 “Mariners” was released on April 15th, 2023.
Nike Dunk Low Premium SB ‘Philadelphia Phillies’
Nike SB has added many MLB-inspired shoes to its lineup. The next pair we want to mention is this Nike Dunk Low “Philadelphia Phillies.” The pair will be featured in its Bubblegum Pack along with the Dunk High “Mets,” which helps honor Americans’ pastimes in baseball. The Phillie’s organization began in 1883 and has been one of America’s teams for a long time. Featuring a University Blue, Team Red, and White, the suede upper comes decked out in blue while dark red Swoosh logos grace the sides, which are accented by white trimming. A white midsole and gum outsole with pink bubblegum detailing on the heel complete the design. The Nike SB Dunk Low “Phillies” was released in the Summer of 2022 through select Nike SB retailers and Nike.com. The official release date was set for July 26, 2022.
