The long-awaited collaboration between Sacai and Nike is finally here. After several whiffed release dates, Nike has made the official announcement themselves, which sees the Sacai LDWaffle dropping later this week.
No, you haven’t been losing your mind. The project between Japanse fashion brand Sacai and the one and only Nike is real, and will in fact release. However, we understand. With so many false dates and irrelevant leaks, we’ve had a pretty hard time keeping up with this project as well. Luckily, Nike is always patient with their announcement, typically leaving them for the last possible moment.
The Sacai x Nike LDWaffle silhouette has been the more confusing of the two collaborative silhouettes to follow so far. Originally, the hybrid sneaker surfaced in just two colorways, before seemingly out of nowhere there was another added to the roster each week. Now, after numerous leaks and false release dates, we are up to five individual colorways of the Sacai x Nike LDWaffle. Two of these color schemes paint the shoe in greyscale or contrasting black and white, while the remaining three feature a variety of bright colors.
SACAI X NIKE LDWAFFLE RELEASE INFORMATION
The first release from Sacai and Nike’s collaborative efforts will hit stores later this week, on May 16th, 2019. The hybrid LDWaffle silhouette is rumored to be releasing in a total of five unique colorways, though so far many raffles only display the original two red & blue and green & mango color schemes. The low-top silhouette will carry a hefty retail price of $180, and release from both partners as well as a variety of select retailers.
