Ronnie Fieg and Asics have a special project lined up to release next week, reviving the retro EX89 basketball shoe in three colorways inspired by the New York Knicks.
Ronnie Fieg has held a strong relationship with Japan’s Asics for years, crafting a range of special-edition releases both under his own name and the Kith label. This week, he has unveiled a new project with the running brand, crafting a three-pack of colorways united by a New York Knicks theme, with the EX89 as their canvas. Originally released as a basketball shoe in 1988, the two are set to revive the EX89 with its first release next week. The three colorways come in varying degrees of colors, with the first casting the shoe in a bright orange suede upper with off-white accents for the Asics logos, tongues, and lacing system. Next up is a tonal off-white suede look, which adds hints of blue to the tongues and inner lining. Finally, the third pair splits the different, casting the shoe in white and cream leathers, with a blue inner lining and orange accents for the heel clip and lacing system.

Ronnie Fieg’s latest project with Asics has been scheduled to release next Monday, November 7th, 2022. Featuring three colorways of the EX89 silhouette, each pair is crafted in New York Knicks colors, and will release exclusively from Kith for their Monday program, though no price has been revealed yet.
