The Puma Prevail first debuted back in 1994, as one of the brand’s premier running silhouettes. Now, a full 25 years later, the vintage silhouette takes on a new look inspired by infrared cameras. Check out the Puma Prevail IR, launching next week.

Puma’s Trinomic technology first burst onto the footwear scene in the 1990s, as a part of the brand’s running line. The tech uses hexagonal shaped pods that increase cushioning and flexibility while increasing the lateral stability of Puma’s running silhouettes. Trinomic is still around today, both in its original form as well as the slightly oversized version Cell, which has also made a popular return in recent years. This week, Puma has announced a new retro release for this Summer, returning another OG Trinomic silhouette to their modern arsenal. The Puma Prevail IR, originally released in 1994, has been repurposed as a new lifestyle silhouette for the brand. Taking inspiration from infrared cameras, the Prevail IR will launch in three initial colorways, Blue Turquoise, Nrgy Red, and Puma Black, each meant to portray the effect of scanning surfaces with varying temperatures.
