Originally released in 1999, the PUMA Speedcat has become the officially unofficial footwear of motorsport enthusiasts across the world. Next week, the OG Sparco iteration returns in a stealthy black colorway.

Back in 1999, PUMA made waves in the motorsports world when they introduced a new collaborative silhouette with Sparco, inspired by the sleek driving boots worn by Formula-1 drivers. Now, 20 years later, PUMA have recreated the silohuette in its original form, complete with a luxurious suede upper and polyurethane sockliner. The outsole features a subtle tire-inspired tread pattern, along with a rounded heel ideal for drivers. The brand’s eye-catching Formstrip stands out on either side in white, while gold foil PUMA lettering adorn the lateral sides. Finally, Sparco branding on both tongues completes the look. The next release of the OG Speedcat will bring back another original color scheme from 2000, decking out the suede upper in all black.
