PUMA’s archives are filled to the brim with some of the most famous sneakers of the last 70 years, and this month, the German brand is paying homage to the man who inspired them all, Rudolf Dassler, through the new Legacy collection, releasing this week.

This month, German sportswear giant PUMA will be releasing a large collection of special-edition footwear to celebrate the mind and legacy of their founder, Rudolf Dassler. Originated in 1948 when the Dassler brothers separated their two footwear business, the PUMA brand grew extensively over the years as Rudolf’s shoes were adopted by athletes around the world, from the track to the soccer pitch and all the way to the basketball court. Styles for this project include the Fast Rider, Sky Lo and Mid, Capri, Mirage, Ralph Sampson Lo and Mid, Oslo City, and Roma ’68. Each shoe takes on a simple white color scheme, with faded off-white suede added to a few minimal overlays. To complete the collection, each pair also has a flash of color visible on the tongue, so far only in three basic shades of green, red, and blue.
