Puma’s CELL Alien is back for the first time since 1998, and its been putting in work in the past few weeks. Coming off a project with NASA, and another high-profile collaboration with Rhude just around the corner, Puma dropped the vintage runner in a flashy new “Kaleidoscope” colorway, available now.
The PUMA Alien first made its debut back in 1998 as a star running shoe from the brand’s CELL technology line. 20 years after its initial release, PUMA revived the fan-favorite runner alongside the resurrection of their visible CELL cushioning, resulting in a chunky lifestyle shoe with a variety of bold new colorways. This week, the German sportswear brand adds several new looks to the mix, painting the Alien OG in a mix of vibrant tones for a total of three new colorways.
The highlight of Puma’s latest Alien release is easily the new “Kaleidoscope” look. The wild new look combines a translucent upper with a variety of colorful suede overlays, some of which are tucked underneath the clear ripstop layer. The midsole has also been segmented into several different sections, each painted in a bright tone to match various parts of the upper.
