The PUMA Ralph Sampson has been on the warpath since its return in 2018. The vintage hoops silhouette made the transition to lifestyle with ease, and now, PUMA is doubling down with a new modernized version, titled the Ralph Sampson MC.
PUMA’s Ralph Sampson silhouette was originally built for the man himself as one of the NBA’s first signature shoes. Then, decades later, it made a grand return to the German sportswear giant’s arsenal in 2018 as the brand’s Hoops division was getting back on its feet. Now, the Ralph Sampson is more popular than ever, and PUMA is doing all the right stuff to back it up. This week, the brand is showing off their latest update to the Sampson, subtitled the MC, which thrusts the vintage sneaker into the modern-day. While retaining the original’s tongue construction and gold Ralph Sampson signature, the MC doesn’t hold back on a new design. The new silhouette completely reconstructs the paneling of the shoe, giving the outer sides an edgy new look with various overlays in a combination of suede and leather. The PUMA Ralph Sampson MC will make its debut in three colorways, two tonal black and white, and the third mostly white with some Violet Grey hints throughout.

PUMA’s modern-day update to the signature Ralph Sampson has been scheduled to debut next week, on June 10th, 2020. Subtitled the MC, the new Sampson will launch from both PUMA and select retailers in three colorways, each with a price tag of just $80.
