PUMA Hoops’ revival of classic basketball sneakers has fueled a fair share of the brand’s lifestyle offerings over the past two years. This week, another vintage model joins the collection, the 1987 Slipstream Mid.

PUMA Hoops is gearing up to revive another one of their vintage basketball shoes for the new year, retro’ing an ’80s classic with the return of the SlipStream Mid, which arrived on shelves overseas this week. Debuted in 1987, the Slipstream was purpose built for the NBA court, featuring a complex layering of leather and suede to create a solid mid-cut basketball shoe. While the performance alone made it popular, the Slipstream’s use of exotic materials and animal print patterns made them stand out both on and off the court. Now, the Slipstream Mid is back, dressed in a neutral white color scheme with hints of navy blue, and enough animal print panels to rival Cruella Deville.
