PUMA’s recently revived Hoops sector has been blowing up this year through the introduction and reintroduction of both new and classic silhouettes. This week, they debuted something along both lines, the new Clyde Hardwood.

The new Puma Clyde Hardwood begins with a knit textile base layer for the upper, which can largely be seen in the toe box and front sections of the shoe. The quarter panels are reinforced by smooth tumbled leather, hiding the knit material underneath and on the heel through a suede counter. Puma’s signature Formstrip extends from heel to quarter panel in classic form, with the tip just barely covered by a piece of suede extending up from the midsole to provide added support when cutting hard. Finally, the Clyde Hardwood features a stiff TPU heel clip wrapping around the rear of each shoe. Arriving in October, the Clyde Hardwood will launch in three initial colorways. All will feature a plain white base, layered with accents in green, pink, or black.
