PUMA’s archive of classic sneaker has been bursting at the seams the past few years, overflowing onto modern day retail shelves with retro releases and new updates. This week, the GV Special+ makes its return.

In the 1970s, an Argentinean tennis player by the name of Guillermo Vilas was on an unprecedenteda tear of title wins. The star was known for his off-the-court charm, making it an easy ace for PUMA to team up with him on tennis footwear. Amont their offerings was the GV Special, a tough, dependable sneaker with a crisp leather upper and thick rubber midsole. Now, over 40 years later, the fan-favorite silhouette is back in a simple white and red color blocking.

PUMA’s latest retro silhouette, the GV Special+, is scheduled to make its return later this week on January 15th, 2019. The tennis sneaker worn by Guillermo Vilas will retail for a cool $110, and launch from both PUMA and select retailers.
