PUMA’s modernized version of the ’80s Rider silhouette is back in full swing for 2020, continuing to dominate the brand’s release calendar in new colorways. This week, the “Play On” pack returns with a sleek new black color scheme.

Back in 1980, the Fast Rider was one of PUMA’s most comfortable yet simplistic running shoes, with a super-light design and shock-absorbing outsole. Today, PUMA’s revamped the Fast Rider as the Future Rider – reborn for casual-cool street style with bold material play and colorblocking, a slimmer outsole, and ultra-comfortable Rider Foam. This week, after a short hiatus as the new year got into gear, the Future Rider is back on PUMA’s release calendar, continuing the original “Play On” set of colorways with a new addition to the pack. The latest color scheme dressed the Future Rider’s upper almost entirely in black, save for the white tongue and Formstrip on either side. The tongue’s branding also comes in red, while the Rider Foam midsole features a splash of blue to complete the look.
