PUMA’s recently revived Hoops sector has been blowing up this year through the introduction and reintroduction of both new and classic silhouettes. This week, the Hoops team is blending the two together with a fresh colorway of the Clyde Hardwood Retro.

The PUMA Clyde Hardwood first made its debut last year, just ahead of the now-postponed National Basketball League season. Since then, the Clyde Hardwood has made its presence on the court well-known, thanks to its appearance on the feet of PUMA’s signature athletes, as well as showing off its versatility in the team tunnel before games. Now, the German sportswear brand is mixing ots off and on-court appeal by drafting the Hardwood Retro in a new colorway, directly inspired by Clyde Frazier’s personal style. Titled the “Alternate”, this look begins with a white mesh base layer for the forefoot, before the quarter panels and heel transition to depe navy blue leather. The heel counter is constructed from grey suede, while translucent milky white Formstrip and midsole complete the look.
