PUMA’s revamped CELL franchise has been booming lately, introducing new colorways and styles on a regular basis. This week, the German brand is trying something new, reconstructing the CELL Alien with new trail-ready capabilities.
The PUMA Alien first made its debut back in 1998 as a star running shoe from the brand’s CELL technology line. 20 years after its initial release, PUMA revived the fan-favorite runner alongside the resurrection of their visible CELL cushioning, resulting in a chunky lifestyle shoe with a variety of bold new colorways, and now, they’re taking it a step further with the new CELL Alien Trail. The new look makes some slight adjustments to the old formula, namely swapping out the usual laces for a new cord system as well as a welded upper, removing many of the shoe’s seams for a more durable design. The CELL Alien trail will make its debut in two colorways next week, one in shades of blue with bright orange accents, and the second in orange and black with vibrant green CELL pods in the heel.
PUMA CELL ALIEN TRAIL RELEASE INFORMATION
PUMA’s new trail-ready interpretation of the retro CELL Alien is scheduled to release later this week, on October 4th, 2019. Available in two colorways at launch, the rugged new version will retail for the silhouettes usual $110 price tag from both PUMA and select retailers.
