PUMA’s XETIC technology made its debut just last month, and already, the Cat is back with more new colorways and styles featuring the advanced new cushioning system. Check out the Calibrate Restored “Base” pack, available tomorrow.

This Fall, PUMA’s performance division unveiled its latest new cushioning technology, which was developed in partnership with the MIT Design Lab. Titled XETIC, the name is derived from the term ‘auxetic materials’, which in this case, refers to the foam used in the midsole and its uncommon response to mechanical stress and strain. So, in tandem with the MIT Design team, PUMA came up with a horizontal figure-8 shape that is ideal for energy return, peppering it throughout the foam midsole to create a form that flexes and adapts with each step. Since then, XETIC tech has been made available on two silhouettes, the Calibrate Runner and the Calibrate Restored, built for running and lifestyle, respectively. Now, PUMA is adding more lifestyle options to their arsenal, with a new “Base” pack of simple colorways for the Calibrate Restored. Working with the Calibrate’s mesh and nubuck construction, the first colorway douses the upper in black tones, with grey panels and orange accents appearing throughout. The second is much simpler, offering up the Restored silhouette entirely in white.
