PUMA has teamed up with the massively popular Pokémon franchise for a new collection, casting a range of their footwear in colorways inspired by the original starter ‘Mons, Pikachu, Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle.
The Pokémon franchise has been massively popular since its introduction to the world in the late 1990s, spanning the original video and card games to a long-standing anime series and manga books. When Pokémon Go hit in 2016, it took the world of pocket monsters to a new level, serving up nostalgia to older players through an easily accessible phone app. Now, the Pokémon Company has revealed a new footwear partnership with PUMA, beginning with a range of sneakers inspired by the games original Pokémon. Everyone’s favorite electric mouse, Pikachu, starts things off with two pairs, the RS-X and the Rider FV, both cast in yellow with black accents and lightning accents. Next up is the Charmander Slipstream Low, in yellow and orange hues with a fiery outsole. Bulbasaur also appears on the Rider FV, this time in shades of green suedes, while Squirtle arrives in the classic PUMA Suede, sporting translucent blue soles to mimic its water type. Each pair comes with a hang tag of the choice Pokémon and extra laces to complete the look.

The upcoming collection from Pokémon and PUMA has been scheduled to release this month, on November 12th, 2022. Featuring five silhouettes in colorways inspired by Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur, pairs will be available directly from the brand’s website and select retailers like Footlocker, with prices ranging from $80 to $130.
