PUMA has a long history with motorsports, most notably evident through their yearly projects with Ferrari. Earlier this year, the brand expanded its list of partners from the industry, designing the new Replicat-X in partnership with Pirelli.
The main feature of Pirelli and PUMA’s Replicat-X is the outsole, which takes on the unique tread pattern of one of Pirelli’s most popular tires, the Cinturato Pirello Blue Wet. The tire is one of Pirelli’s most popular for auto racing and is particularly dominant in the F1 circuit, a sport which helped inspire the rest of the Replcat-X’s design. The upper of the Replicat-X features several different pieces of Mesh stitched together in key locations to provide steady support, while a stiff Formstrip reinforced the lateral sides. This week’s release of the Pirelli x PUMA Replicat-X comes in two colorways, one bright yellow with turquoise accents, and a second look sporting a black upper with a blue turquoise sole.
PIRELLI X PUMA REPLICA-X RELEASE INFORMATION
PUMA’s Replicat-X silhouette, designed in partnership with Pirelli, is scheduled to release in two new colorways later this week on October 1st, 2019. Dressed in Green Glimmer and Blue Turquoise, both options will be available from PUMA and select retailers for $100.
