Nike’s “Black Metallic” Air Zoom Spiridon Releases in 2025

Nike’s Air Zoom Spiridon is back this year, kicking off in December with a retro of the “Sport Red” style. This week, another new style has appeared, this time dressing the shoe in a “Black Metallic” combination.

The original Spiridon model from Nike has been remastered, and is back for another retro run. Released in 1997 and an early adopter of the Swoosh’s Zoom technology, the Spiridon has become a cult classic, and is beloved by fans of Nike’s ’90s run for its sleek look and unique color blocking. Now back in its original form, Nike has a few colorways up their sleeve for the next few months.

This week has brought us an official look at another colorway of the Air Zoom Spiridon coming to shelves this year. Dubbed “Black Metallic”, this pair dresses the shoe almost entirely in black for its mesh and nylon laters. The shoe’s piping comes in metallic silver with matching accents in the lacing system, while chrome Swooshes and red mini Swooshes complete the look.

Kanye West has been striking out on his own for the last year after adidas cut ties with the rapper a few years ago. This week, he’s teased his first full sneaker under the new YZY brand, the BL-01 “Bully”, coming soon.

Ye’s new foray into the world of design and manufacturing is off to a roaring start. Over the last few months, the rapper/designer has released a new line of apparel via the YZY-SPLY website, which includes tees, hoodies, jackets, pants, shorts, socks, and more. Some pieces feature graphics, and all of them come in either grey, white, or black. As an added bonus for avid Yeezy fans, everything is priced at just $20. This week, ‘Ye showed off his latest creation; a brand new sneaker.

Kanye is back on Instagram, which means we once again can experience a pure stream of consciousness on social media unlike any other. This week he shared an early look at his first full sneaker under the new brand; the BL-01 “Bully”. The model we saw came in all black, and features some design choices reminiscent of his adidas products, namely, the tongue shape looks identical to that of the 700v3 model.

Nike Air Force 1 Low “All-Star” Releases in January

The NBA’s annual All-Star weekend is coming up, and so are the wave of special-edition sneaker releases for the occasion. First up, Nike is kicking things off with an Air Force 1 Low that pays homage to San Francisco, the Fog City.

Sneaker projects for early 2025 are starting to line up fast. In January, brands will release their annual Lunar New Year collections, which will be swiftly followed by NBA All-Star releases in February. Nike is getting a head start on the latter, releasing their first “All-Star” style in January, which pays homage to San Francisco and its famous fog (known locally as Karl) with the Air Force 1 Low.

The “Fog City” edition of the Air Force 1 brings some excellent details to the iconic sneaker. This special-edition pair features a black nubuck build for its upper, save for the heel panels and Swooshes which come in a metallic silver chrome finish. The mudguards and eyestays have a pattern meant to mimic the look of swirling fog in SF, which appears under direct light thanks to 3M reflective materials. Star shaped lace dubraes complete the look.

Nike’s releases for the 2025 All-Star weekend are kicking off a month ahead of time, with this Air Force 1 style arriving on January 16th, 2025. Inspired by San Francisco’s infamous fog, this black & chrome & 3M pair will be available via the SNKRS app and select retailers for $130.

Nike Book 1 “Flagstaff” Releases in February

Devin Booker and Nike continue to roll out excellent new colorways of the Book 1 model this year. With the NBA All-Star weekend approaching, we have an early look at a new “Flagstaff” style expected to release that weekend.

In 2024, Devin Booker released his first signature shoe with Nike, the Book 1. The model, which is inspired by classics like the Air Force 1 but ready for all levels of performance on the court, has had a wide array of colors land over the last year. Booker and the Nike team have used the model as a template for Book to tell his personal stories, especially relating to his relationship with Arizona, home of the Suns.

Devin Booker is paying homage to Arizona with another Nike Book 1 release this season. Currently slated to coincide with the NBA’s All-Star Weekend, the “Flagstaff” edition celebrates one of the state’s mountain towns, and dresses the shoe in a deep “Fir” green shade. The upper features a topographic pattern stitched across the entire shoe, and the outline Swoosh comes in phantom white, with hemp soles underneath.

CLOT x adidas Superstar “CNY” Releases in January

CLOT and adidas are gearing up for another release early in 2025, but this time they are celebrating Chinese New Year. Featuring their take on the Superstar, the blacked-out pair is expected to release in January.

Edison Chen’s CLOT label has had a prolific year with adidas, releasing nearly a dozen project in their year as partners. The projects thus far have had an emphasis on altering classic Three Stripes models in unique ways, usually reworking them with dress shoe elements, or with the Gazelle, adding a full leather sole and woven upper. One of their frequent releases has been the Superstar, which returns early next year in a special-edition style.

CLOT is bringing back their first take on the adidas Superstar in January, which originally debuted late in 2023 with elements borrowed from men’s formal shoes. This time around, the model is being used for a “Chinese New Year”-themed release, retaining all of their added features but dressing it in a uniform shade of black. The upper comes in a silk textile with a jacquard pattern, while gold branding and a red tongue tassel complete the look.

Bad Bunny and adidas are adding new styles and silhouettes to their already extensive collaboration in 2025. This week, a new pair of their Gazelle project has surfaced, dressed in a “Crew Yellow” color scheme.

Bad Bunny’s ongoing partnership with adidas has been one of the best team-ups in sneakers over the past few years. Every year, sneaker brands celebrate the Lunar New Year with a string of special-edition releases, usually inspired by the new year’s Zodiac Animal. 2025 is the Year of the Snake, which means a huge array of our favorite sneakers are getting snakeskin-clad new styles early in the year. This week, another Air Force 1 has joined Nike’s collection.

The new Air Force 1 addition to Nike’s Lunar New Year series is one of their simplest releases for the celebration ever, but the devil is in the details here. Dressed in an all-white color palette, this pair gets its kicks through different textures and materials across the shoe. The bulk of the upper comes in leather, with some scaly, snakeskin-like textiles added to the toes, midfoot, and heels. The heel tabs, Swooshes, and toe boxes come in a silky jacquard patterned material to complete the look.

Nike will continue their long string of new styles for the Dunk Low in 2025. The iconic basketball-turned-lifestyle silhouette has become a staple of the Swoosh’s catalog after years of limited releases. Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and sneaker brands are lining up their releases for the holiday. This year, adidas is rolling out a special pair of their classic Ultra Boost 1.0, with hearts knit right into the shoe’s upper.

The beginning of each year is a hot bed of sneaker releases for special occasions. In January, brands celebrate Lunar New Year, rolling out sneakers themed around traditional aspects of Asian culture, or that year’s Zodiac animal. February follows up with two in a row, Valentine’s Day release and the NBA All-Star Weekend, typically falling in the same week. Today, we have an early look at one of adidas’ new additions to their V-Day lineup.

The Ultra Boost 1.0 is turning ten years old in 2025, and naturally, the Three Stripes are including plenty of new releases at every turn to celebrate the occasion. This week, we have an early look at the Valentine’s Day edition, which adds some unique details to the iconic runner.
