Asics’ GEL-Kayano 14 in “Lime” Releases Summer 2025

0

Asics retro silhouettes are everywhere right now, with the Japanese brand taking over as the go-to source for ‘dad’ sneakers. The GEL-Kayano 14 is still on a hot streak after a big 2024, with new colorways like this “Lime” pair on the way for Summer 2025.

Asics’ GEL-Kayano 14 retro has been incredibly well received by the sneaker community in the last few years. When the model first released in 2008, it was heralded by runners for its performance value, thanks to its high-end GEL cushioning in the midsole. The fourteenth model in the series, it won a number of awards for running sneakers before being retired for later iterations.

In the last few years, the GK14 has returned, now under the brand’s SportStyle banner, repurposed as a lifestyle model. Plenty of the new colorways have retained the brand’s 2000s aesthetics, with mesh and synthetic construction and plenty of shimmering metallic silver panels. The latest style to surface is no different, dressing the majority of the shoe’s upper in a silver tone. White branding accents and laces break it up a bit, while Lime green hits on the heels and cushioning elements complete the look.

The sneaker world took over the San Francisco Bay Area this past weekend to celebrate the NBA’s All-Star Game. Footwear brands descended on the fog city to host special events unveiling and releasing new sneakers, limited-edition collabs, and more. The high point for many came on Saturday morning, when Nike’s upcoming new basketball shoe began to make the round online. The GT Future first appeared on the feet of Wale at the youth basketball showcase in Oakland, before being officially unveiled later that day.

Among the first looks we got at the new GT Future was a stealthy “Matte Black” color scheme. The model was seen on the feet of AJ Dybantsa, a top high school prospect from Utah Prep. This pair’s coloring differs greatly from the reflective orange pair worn by Wale or the shimmering Copper style teased by Frank Cooker, and instead opts for a muted, matte finish. The look also sports some silver accents for the Swooshes to complete the look.

Nike Shox R4 Gets a White/Iridescent Upgrade for Spring 2025

The Nike Shox family has made a surprising comeback in recent years, bringing the unique older performance tech to the lifestyle world. This week, we have an early look at a new white & iridescent pair of the R4, coming soon.

The slow return of the Nike Shox line over the last five years has been an interesting development in sneakers. The revival began in 2019, when a handful of pairs hit the market with collaborators like Neymar Jr., Skepta, and size?. Now, the Shox R4 has been releasing in new colors steadily over the last few months, with plenty more in store for 2025. With recent cosigns from Kendrick Lamar and Martine Rose, the R4 has surfaced in a fresh new style for Spring 2025. This pair sports a plain Summit White leather for most of its upper construction, adding the shoe’s lower half in a shimmering iridescent panel. The Shox cushioning under the heels comes in metallic silver to complete the look.
