The Air Jordan 1 Heads Outdoors With a New Gore-Tex Element Edition

Back in 2021, Jordan brand introduced a weatherproof version of the iconic Air Jordan 1 High, dubbed Element. Now, four years later, they are bringing the Element name and some major changes to the Air Jordan 1 Low, coming soon.

When the Air Jordan 1 debuted in 1985, it broke the NBA’s uniform policy with its bold red and black “Bred” colorway—Nike paid Jordan’s fines, turning controversy into marketing. It quickly transcended sport to become a symbol of rebellion and identity. In hip‑hop culture, it was adopted by artists for its visual impact. It also became central to skateboarding, streetwear, fashion collaborations, and sneaker collecting. Through limited drops and luxury partnerships, the AJ1 evolved into both a status symbol and cultural touchstone.

In recent years, Jordan Brand has experimented with taking the AJ1 to the great outdoors, releasing a Gore-Tex-lined Element version back in 2021. Now, they have an Element v2 style on the way, this time adapting the Air Jordan 1 Low for the great outdoors. The look keeps the essential paneling of the AJ1 intact, but that is basically where the similarities stop. The midsole has been swapped out for a trail-ready tooling borrowed from the ACG Mountain Fly, and Gore-Tex waterproofing is used liberally throughout the silhouette. Dual tongues and dual pull tabs add ease of use to the design, and a chunky treat will provide plenty of grip in wet conditions.

Three colorways of the Air Jordan 1 Low Element were previewed by SneakerNews recently, set to be the debut collection when the shoe releases in October. First up, a crisp all-white pair that adds a metallic silver Swoosh and Glacier Blue accents. Next, a dark olive green style features shades of tan for main body paneling, and a Safety Orange accents. Lastly, a blacked out pair of the modified shoes adds a pop of neon red to complete the look.

AIR JORDAN 1 LOW ELEMENT RELEASE INFORMATION

The debut of Jordan Brand’s new outdoor-ready Air Jordan 1 Low are currently set to release next month, on October 1st, 2025. The reworked silhouette, which suspiciously resembles the Mars Yard, is equipped with Gore-Tex waterproofing and a completely overhauled design. Pairs will likely be available through Nike and select retailers at launch, with three colorways to start, each priced at $200.

Our Legacy WORK SHOP’s Latest Converse Chuck 70 Release Tomorrow

0

Our Legacy’s WORK SHOP experimental lab has unveiled their latest pairs of the Converse Chuck 70. Releasing tomorrow, colors include a deep, dark brown shade and a pristine cream white colorway, both featuring the WORK SHOP yin-yang logo.

WORK SHOP is an off‑shoot of Swedish brand Our Legacy, founded in 2005 by Jockum Hallin, Cristopher Nying, and later Richardos Klarén. The sub‑label was launched around 2016, with both a physical atelier‑store in Stockholm and a more experimental function within the brand. Its purpose is reworking and reinterpreting existing materials—deadstock fabrics, archive pieces, and leftovers—via processes like overdyeing, deconstruction, hand finishes, and reconstruction. It also acts as a “test kitchen” for design ideas: unique one‑offs made in WORK SHOP sometimes inform or become part of the core collections.

Over the years’ WORK SHOP has built a relationship with Converse, with the US brand supplying Our Legacy with pairs of the iconic Chuck 70 to undergo the specialty treatment of WORK SHOP. This week, OL is releasing their latest batch of the high-top basketball shoe, arriving tomorrow. For this release, they’ve dressed the shoe in two colorways, one in tonal cream and the other in a shade of brown so dark it appears black in some of their photos. The WORK SHOP yin-yang logo is embroidered on the collars, both pairs feature an elevated sole unit for more stability around the bottom of your foot.

The Nike GT Future Goes “Hyper Pink” for Summer 2026

0
Nike GT Future Hyper Pink FZ5590-601

Nike’s GT Future first appeared during this year’s NBA All-Star Weekend in the San Francisco Bay Area, and has been on our minds ever since. This week, news of another upcoming colorway crossed our feeds, dressing the shoe in a vivid “Hyper Pink” tone.

Nike took over the Bay Area back in February for All-Star Weekend, bringing with them plenty of special releases and unveiling a ton of upcoming product. The highlight of the weekend was easily the GT Future, a brand new basketball silhouette coming later this year. The new model builds on the legacy of their Foamposite line, featuring a molded upper and single-piece construction. I was in attendance for Nike’s “Foam party”, which brought the staff of retailers in the area to the Oakland Convention Center to celebrate the release of the Galaxy Foamposite. Wale took the stage at the end of the night, giving us all an early, in-person look at the silhouette.

Nike’s G.T. Future “Hyper Pink” pushes the envelope of modern basketball footwear with a bold, nearly seamless aesthetic. The upper is engineered to flow almost uninterrupted into the midsole, giving the sneaker a sleek sculpted look. Black highlights on the lacing system and outsole contrast sharply with the vivid pink tone, underscoring the shoe’s aggressive styling.

On the tech side, the G.T. Future combines several performance features: an Air unit in the forefoot, a full‑length Zoom Strobel layer, and a Cushlon 3.0 midsole. Together, they’re designed to deliver impact protection, responsiveness, and stability when you’re making rapid cuts or pushing off in jumps.

NIKE GT FUTURE “HYPER PINK” RELEASE INFORMATION

Nike’s GT Future “Hyper Pink” hasn’t been officially announced for release yet, but early leaks suggest a release window of Summer 2025. It’s expected to come dressed mostly in Hyper Pink, with black accents on the outsole and lacing for contrast. When it arrives, the sneaker will likely carry a retail price near $200 USD and be sold through Nike’s own channels and select retailers.

FACETASM Lands Their First Asics Collaboration with the GEL-Kayano 14

0

Asics has gathered a highly unique stable of collaborators over the years, teaming up with big, household names and smaller brands. This month, they’ve tapped Japan’s FACETASM for their first team-up, the “Organic Beauty” GEL-Kayano 14.

Facetasm is a Tokyo‑based streetwear label founded by Hiromichi Ochiai in 2007. The name is a play on “facet” — representing many sides of something — and it reflects how the brand always strives to break rules and present unexpected combinations of texture, form, and culture. Ochiai studied at Bunka Fashion College and got hands‑on experience working in textiles; his design approach often merges tailoring, deconstruction, sportswear, and experimental proportions.

Facetasm’s first ASICS collaboration is the GEL‑KAYANO 14 “Organic Beauty”, which drops in Japan later this month. The design draws on nature: its color palette uses about ten different hues inspired by plants, dirt, light, and water. The upper mixes three different types of mesh to shift texture depending on angle, the midsole is stippled to evoke dirt’s roughness, and the heel features a holographic copper wrap bearing Facetasm branding — subtle but thoughtful.

FACETASM X ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14 “ORGANIC BEAUTY” RELEASE INFORMATION

The debut collaboration from Japanese brands FACETASM and Asics has been scheduled to release this month, on September 20th, 2025. Currently, the “Organic Beauty” edition of the GEL-Kayano 14 will be limited to a Japan-only release, though we hope to see pairs arrive stateside soon. The colorful look will be available from FACETASM stores, as well as online at the E-shop if you’re willing to pay tariffs on a $195 shoe.

adidas’ “Blue Fusion” AE2 is Expected in October 2025

The last few months have given us more and more early looks at the AE2, Anthony Edwards’ second signature model with adidas. This week, a “Blue Fusion” edition has surfaced with an expected release in Fall 2025.

Anthony Edwards’ first signature shoe with adidas, the AE1, debuted in late 2023, and has had a remarkably successful run over the last eighteen months. The silhouette garnered a lot of praise from both sneakerheads and avid basketball shoe collectors, heralded as a Sneaker of the Year in both style and performance categories. adidas has also run a fantastic ad campaign, dropping some short, entertaining skits in the wake of big on-court moments for Ant, starring Ice-T as a crime scene investigator.

Over the last year or so, fans of the AE1 began to question when adi and Ant would release a follow-up to one of the most successful performance shoes in recent history. Originally slated to arrive in December 2024, the AE2 was delated until late 2025, but has finally started to pop up in new colors we can expect to see on shelves soon. Today, we got our first look at a new “Blue Fusion” edition, which covers the shoe’s textile layer in a bright shade of blue. This is paired with a black fitted bootie, and a plastic cage system in white and black, with a hint of neon green at the toes.

ADIDAS AE2 “BLUE FUSION” RELEASE INFORMATION

The first official release of Anthony Edwards’ adidas AE2 sneaker has not been announced yet, but is now expected sometime in Fall 2025, with this “Blue Fusion” edition penciled for October 25th. This is the earliest date we’ve heard for the new model yet, and makes sense given the timing with the start of the NBA season. Additionally, pricing for this model is set at $130.

Fear of God Athletics & adidas Will Release the Basketball II.5 in Holiday 2025

Fear of God and adidas have used the holiday season to roll out every new evolution in their ongoing Athletics footwear line. This week, we have our first look at the next performance silhouette from the two, the Basketball II.5, coming later this year.

The falling out between Jerry Lorenzo and Nike through his Fear of God label shocked the sneaker world back in 2020. After several very successful collections the two parted ways, and FoG began a new search for a brand that would help them produce true performance gear. The answer was found with adidas, who gave Jerry and his team full access to their decades of sports research and knowledge. The result was the FoG Athletics Basketball, which released during the holiday 2023 season. The results were mixed, but they followed up a year later with the Basketball II, a truly court-ready fashion silhouette.

The Athletics Basketball II made its debut nearly a year ago, and has released in a range of styles since then. Additionally, the two created a mid-cut version and a trainer, along with their standard lifestyle footwear. Now, Fear of God and adidas are nearly ready to unveil the shoe’s next half-step forward, the Basketball II.5. This new iteration makes some small adjustments to its predecessor, namely the single-piece shroud that covers the shoe’s entire upper. Secured with a zipper running up the toe, we can safely assume that the ankle strap from the II has been removed entirely, though a lacing system is likely still present underneath. The II.5 will debut in a sheer white color scheme, adding plenty of Athletics branding in black.

FEAR OF GOD ATHLETICS X ADIDAS BASKETBALL II.5 RELEASE INFORMATION

The next footwear entry in the Athletics label from Fear of God and adidas does not have an official release date yet, but is rumored to arrive during the holiday 2025 season. Dubbed the Basketball II.5, we can safely assume a III is still in the works for the future. The initial release will come dressed in a sheet white colorway with black branding, releasing from both partners for $200.

New Balance Revives the 770 Trainer for Their Numeric Line

New Balance is extremely cautious when it comes to retroing their archival sneakers. This week, they’ve unveiled a new revival, meaning they know they have a hit on their hands. Check out the Numeric 770, coming soon.

The last great retro release we saw from New Balance was the 550, a basketball shoe from the mid ’80s that took over the sneaker market in 2020. Now, another cult classic model has surfaced on the brand’s release calendar, standing on its own without an Aimé Leon Dore collaboration to draw up hype around it. Originally released in the ’90s as the CXT770, the silhouette was designed to be a performance cross-trainer. Now, the Numeric team has revised the shoe to better fit the world of skateboarding.

The Numeric team has not fully detailed what their version of the New Balance 770 does differently than the original. However, the few details on the brand’s website tell us that the shoe sports a cup sole for better grip on a board, plastic wing pieces to protect the upper from wear & tear, “Improved insert compound for underfoot comfort”, and FuelCell foam for cushioning. The 770 will also launch in two colorways, one in black & grey with gum outsole accents, and the other in a unique mix of dark grey, olive green, and a royal purple shade.

NEW BALANCE NUMERIC 770 RELEASE INFORMATION

New Balance’s latest fresh style for their Numeric skateboarding line has been scheduled to release next week, on September 15th, 2025. Revived and repurposed from its roots in the ’90s as a cross-trainer, the 770 will debut in two colorways at launch, a black and grey build and a grey, olive, and purple look. Pairs will be available through the brand’s website and skate shops for $125.

The Whitaker Group Continues the “Willful Bias” Series with a New Balance 740

The Whitaker Group is back with another collaboration this month. Following up on their New Balance release from last month, featuring the 998 and 990v4, the 740 silhouette now joins the “Willful Bias” collection.

The Whitaker Group has become a more common name in the sneaker world over the last two years. Whitaker is the self-described “experiential and creative company” behind many of our favorite sneaker retailers, A Ma Maniere, Social Status, APB, and now Jaide. They also offer in-person experiences like AMM’s Beach, Eats, and Living concepts. While each store under the TWG umbrella has their own sneaker collabs, the group itself has started to release special projects, largely with New Balance.

This week, The Whitaker Group unveiled their latest project from New Balance, revisiting the “Willful Bias” concept that began with their 998 and 990v4 releases earlier this Summer. This time around, the extremely under-appreciated 740 silhouette gets the spotlight. Shot in a campaign centered around golf, the sleek runner features a stunning color scheme in white, black and gold, with a slight hint of olive green wrapping around the heels. Materials on this pair are exquisite, featuring an ultra fine mesh underlay, suede mid layers, and finished with a synthetic flourish.

THE WHITAKER GROUP X NEW BALANCE 740 “WILLFUL BIAS” RELEASE INFORMATION

The latest project from The Whitaker Group and their partnership with New Balance is set to release this week, on September 15th, 2025. Featuring the 740 runner for their latest entry in the “Willful Bias” series, this pair sports a white, black, and gold color scheme. Pairs will likely be available from all of the TWG retailers, but Social Status has already opened their EQL raffle, and is expected to stop entries on September 15th. Pairs will go for $120.

BSTN & adidas Celebrate Oktoberfest with a Munich “Salute” Pack

Oktoberfest is almost here, and adidas is once again paying homage to the German beer festival. Like past releases, they’ve teamed up with German retailer BSTN for a new project, this time combining Italian and German heritage for a two-pack of the classic Munich sneaker.

adidas’ heritage as a German brand has brought us many special projects from their retail partners in the country, as well as through adidas themselves. There have been a litany of releases celebrating the Bavarian Oktoberfest, a beer festival that many people travel to from around the world. Their last release for the festival came in 2019, when they teamed up with retailer BSTN for a special beer-resistant version of the München.

This week, BSTN and adidas have unveiled their latest work celebrating the beloved Bavarian festival, once again using the München, or Munich, as their canvas. The new styles return the Munich to its classic build with a simple sole unit commonly used across the Spezial range of sneakers. The new release combines Bavarian and Italian culture, using the Italian cheers, “Salute” as the branding on both sneakers. One pair comes in a dark chocolate brown nubuck, with white accents and a forest green finish. The other comes in soft cream white nubuck, featuring the same white and green color accents. Both shoes feature a dual-culture crest on the tongues, combining elements from both Bavarian and Italian design languages.
