Nintendo and PUMA kicked off their partnership earlier this year, with a collection of sneakers themed after various Super Mario titles. Now, the two are paying homage to the original with the Future Rider NES.

The Nintendo Entertainment System, or NES, was first released in 1983, sparking a love for video games in children and adults around the world for years to come. Around the same time, PUMA was in the process of releasing its new Fast Rider silhouette, a barebones running shoe meant to excel during short distance stints through lightweight materials and smooth cushioning. Now, PUMA and Nintendo have partnered up, and have already released a whole collection of Super Mario-themed footwear. Now, the two are set to pay homage to the original Super Mario Bros. game as well as the NES itself, with this month’s Future Rider NES. Constructed from grey mesh, white suede, and black leather Formstrips, this special-edition project features plenty of NES-themed additions, like the Power button midsole insert, SMB tongue label, and an NES controller hangtag.
