Nike’s Zoom Vomero 5 has become an interesting piece of Nike arsenal in recent years. This season, they unveiled an updated version of the shoe for more outdoor wearability, dubbed the Roam, which launches later this year in a “Summit White” color scheme.
The Zoom Vomero 5 started its comeback campaign in 2018, releasing in a collaboration with A-COLD-WALL before releasing in a handful of in-line styles. The model had disappeared from the Nike catalog once more by late 2019, before making a surprise return in 2022 with a tidal wave of new colors, and exploding in popularity due to its ‘dad’ shoe style. Nike went on to state that the Vomero 5 would continue to be an essential piece of their offerings going forward, even releasing in children’s sizing.
This season, Nike is showing off their commitment to the Vomero 5 with a newly updated version for 2024. Originally debuted in 2011, the shoe is very mush a product of the running shoe design at the time, with a heavily layered mesh and synthetic build. The new Roam variant takes the shoe to the outdoors, adding a more durable and rugged outsole, fused rubber mudguard, and toggle lacing to make the shoe trail ready.

Nike’s debut date of their new Zoom Vomero 5 Roam has not been publicly announced yet, but is expected to come before the end of 2024. Modifying the retro runner with an outdoor approach, pairs will be available from both Nike and select retailers for a hefty $180.
