Nike’s Zoom Vomero+ 5 first returned at the end of 2018, as a special release for A-Cold-Wall. Then, the Vomero released in 4 colorways before fading from the Swoosh’s release calendar, until now. Check out the Vomero in “Bright Crimson”, dropping this week.
When Samuel Ross pulled the Zoom Vomero+ 5 from the Swoosh’s archives for his brand A-Cold Wall’s collaboration with Nike, he sparked a fire that Nike wasn’t even aware of yet. Ross’s sculpture-inspired versions of the classic running shoe were quickly adopted by all kinds of Nike fans, despite initial ridicule at the oversized rubber block on the heels. The affinity for the Vomero soon prompted Nike to release a few more colorways, before the Vomero+ 5 faded from the brand’s release calendars in early 2019. Now, with the demand still there, the Vomero is making a return this week in a new “Bright Crimson” colorway. The look adds bright red mesh paneling to the shoe’s base layer while following the same silver and black overlay construction from previous releases. Bowerman series details are present on the interior, showing off the silhouette’s place in Nike’s history.

The reissued Nike Zoom Vomero+ 5 is scheduled to make its return later this week, on July 15th, 2020, in the eye-catching new “Bright Crimson” colorway. The retro running shoes will come with its usual price tag of $150, and will launch from both Nike and select retailers.
