Back in 2020, Nike rereleased their Zoom Spiridon Cage 2, an early-2000s runner with a unique construction. After a short hiatus, the model has quietly returned this year, with even more colors planned for 2025 like this “Medium Ash” style.
Nike has been quietly pushing new colors of their Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 this year. The model has been on hiatus since 2020, when the Swoosh first released a retro version of the silhouette as well as a trio of colorways with Stüssy. After quietly restocking the classic Metallic Silver pair early this year, a few more plain styles appeared on shelves every few months. New colorways are still expected into 2025, including this “Medium Ash” pair that surfaced this week.
The latest style of the Spiridon Cage 2 to emerge is a stark departure from their plain neutral styles that have dominated the shoe’s releases this year. Compared to the tonal black and wheat styles, the “Medium Ash” is a touch more colorful. The look paints all of the shoe’s mesh layers in the deep maroon tone, while its leather overlays come with a color changing iridescent finish. Dark brown midsoles underneath complete the look.

Nike’s next new colorway for their Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 retro has not been given an official release date yet, but are expected to arrive sometime in Spring 2025. Cast entirely in dark “Medium Ash” maroon shade with iridescent overlays, pairs will be available from Nike and select retailers for $140.
