Back in 2020, Nike rereleased their Zoom Spiridon Cage 2, an early-2000s runner with a unique construction. After a short hiatus, the model has quietly returned this year, reissuing some classic looks as well as new ones like this “Wheat” pair, coming soon.
The rerelease of the Nike Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 caught us by surprise this Spring, with their under-the-radar restock of the OG metallic silver color scheme. The model had been on a hiatus from releases since 2020, which had brought some fun new styles and a trio of Stüssy collaborations. Now, the Swoosh has returned the Cage 2 to their arsenal, with some fresh colors popping up seasonally.
This week brings us an early look at a new Fall style for the Spiridon Cage 2. This time, Nike is giving the shoe their iconic “Wheat” treatment, which originated in 2001 with the Co.JP Air Force 1. Since then, the signature brown tone has made its way to dozens of Nike models, and is applied in a tonal palette to the latest addition to the family.
