Nike seems to have a renewed interest in its Zoom Airbag technology in recent years, as the lightweight and ultra-comfortable bubbles have appeared on more and more silhouettes in recent years. Now, the Swoosh is going all-in on Zoom with the new Double Stacked model.

Double Stacked? Like, a cheeseburger or something? No, its the latest highly-advanced sneaker from Nike, duh. And yes, the official name, as of now, is the Nike Zoom Double Stacked. So what is it? Well, it’s hard to tell. The amount of Zoom cushioning in the underfoot, (8 bags in total) would lead me to believe that this is a product from Nike Running, intended for performance. But, on second thought… there’s no way its safe to be running with such ludicrously thick soles on, right? I honestly have no idea yet, but this wild new look is interesting enough for me to check out just why it needs 8 whole Zoom airbags tucked underneath your feet. Oh, and it will arrive exclusively in Nike’s signature “Volt” color.
