Despite all of the sneaker news coming out of NBA All-Star Weekend the last few days, we also got a nice chunk of new information about Nike .SWOOSH releases. Check out the new “Tomb Raider” inspired pair of the Air Max 1, coming this Fall.
Nike launched the .SWOOSH line in 2024, as a means of connecting the worlds of sneakers and video games. The first projects from the .SWOOSH label came in a digital form, formally working with prominent video games like NBA 2K and Fortnite to bring iconic sneakers as wearable in-game accessories. Late in 2024, they introduced the Air Max 1 Low-Poly, a new version of the classic runner designed to look like a retro low-polygon video game.
Over the past weekend, several new pairs of the Air Max 1 Poly surfaced online, giving us a look at a new direction for .SWOOSH physical releases. Both styles are seemingly inspired by classic video game characters from the ’90s, one inspired by Donkey Kong and the second taking cues from Lara Croft, the iconic Tomb Raider. This pair borrows colors from Lara’s classic outfit in the first few games, adding a muted green mudguard and Swoosh and a brown gum outsole. The pair, like its DK counterpart, likely features a handful of nods to the classic game, like the cheat code printed on the insoles that gave Lara access to all weapons in the OG game.

The next release from Nike’s .SWOOSH label has been announced for release, starting on February 26th, 2025. Continuing their video game character-inspired styles, the “Tomb Raider” pair inspired by the original Lara Croft look will be available exclusively to .SWOOSh members for $150.

Nike is trying out a new system for customers to unlock this special Tomb Raider-inspired .SWOOSH look. Via the SNKRS app, you will have to play a series of word games / questions to unlock a pair. The release will begin on Monday, February 26th.
