Nike’s Space Hippie collection of sustainable footwear continues to grow, now adding new colorways on a monthly basis. Today, we have an early look at a fresh “Racer Blue” look, coming soon.
Inspired by a life on Mars without raw materials, creating the need for reuse and sustainability, Nike’s Space Hippie project was a hit when it debuted last Summer. Constructed from the brand’s scrap and waste materials from its production facilities, the collection was Nike’s first large step in the direction of a more sustainable supply chain, aiming to eliminate some of the waste created through fabric and thread cutting. Now, the Space Hippie collection is slowly being integrated into the Swoosh’s in-line product, adding new colorways on a regular basis to keep things fresh, and more importantly, continuing to remove waste from out environment. This week, the Space Hippie 03 is the first to emerge in a new “Racer Blue” color scheme, mixing a grey and orange knit upper with bold blue and yellow accents for its various straps and pull tabs.

Nike’s latest colorway of the recycled Space Hippie 03 has not yet officially been announced for release, though they are scheduled to drop on January 1st, 2021 in Korea. The Space Hippie 03 will be available from both Nike and select retailers, with the usual price tag of $180 when they finally land stateside.
